Chinenye Ochuba

Chinenye Ivy Ochuba is a former beauty queen and Computer Scienist.

Born into a family of ten, she is the seventh of eight children. After finishing her secondary education at Regan Memorial Secondary School, she won the Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria pageant in 2002. This made her eligible to represent Nigeria at the Miss Universe pageant in Puerto Rico. Despite being a favourite for the crown, she failed to make the Top Ten; no black contestant was a finalist that year, which led to the term "2002 Blackout". However, she fared better at the Miss World pageant in the same year where she was a finalist, as well as African Continental Queen of Beauty.

In 2008, Ochuba completed her degree in Computer Science at the University of Greenwich, London. She has now returned to Nigeria, and is currently engaged to be married.
