"Saltwater" is a song by Chicane, alias of English producer Nick Bracegirdle, with vocals recorded by Irish Celtic folk singer Maire Brennan. It was released as a single in 1999, reaching the #6 position on the UK Singles Chart and becoming a popular dance track in clubs across Europe. Music video

The "Saltwater" music video, incorporating images of surfing juxtaposed with the frenzy of a nightclub, was filmed in February. The surfing scenes were shot along the Cornwall coastline, the location of many beaches that are popular surfer destinations. In 2008, Chicane recorded a mashup of Natasha Bedingfield's song, "I Bruise Easily" with his own song, "Saltwater". The song was then named, "Bruised Water".

The mashup performed well in Nightclub's in the United Kingdom and was praised by various DJ's on BBC Radio 1. The song was released on August 25 2008 as a Digital download.

Charts

On August 31 2008, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at #43 and has so far peaked at #42.
