Plot Summary

Evan Ross must stay at his nerdy cousin Kermit Majors's house while his parents Paul and Lauren are gone. Whilst there he must deal with his annoying cousin and the local bully, Conan. Whilst plotting a revenge scheme for Conan, Andrea "Andy" Herchman reveals an authentic can of Monster Blood. Evan knows that it must not be trusted and intends to get rid of it, but Kermit opens the can anyway.

It turns out this Monster Blood is not the green kind that Evan was familiar with - this species is blue, and after escaping it becomes a living creature. The creature is capable of multiplying by drinking liquid, and in a matter of minutes there are sixteen Monster Blood creatures. Also as the creature multiplies, it becomes fiercer - eventually they are captured and locked in the bathroom.

However, by the next morning they escape and thanks to the water in the bathroom not only have they multiplied into thousands, but they have become deadly and vicious. They break out and start attacking the whole town, until they multiply so much and become so dangerous that they all attack and kill each other.

A scientist then appears in front of the three kids during the aftermath and reveals that the blue liquid was designed by himself as a military weapon - a soldier that becomes fierce and multiplies underwater to outnumber enemies. After he leaves, Kermit decides to use the last scrap of blue Monster Blood to get revenge on Conan - since the monsters will just kill each other in the end it will be harmless. Unfortunately Conan mistakes the blue blob for a piece of candy and eats it, and by the next morning there are four Conans feeling even meaner than usual.
