Nephrolepis is a genus of about 30 species of ferns in the family Nephrolepidaceae or Lomariopsidaceae (included in Davalliaceae in some classifications).

Some species of Nephrolepis grown as ornamental plants

It is also one of the best over all plants at removing gaseous toxins from the air, including formaldehyde.

Some Nephrolepis spp. may prove to be a good source of new antimicrobial chemicals.[1]
