Iostat

Iostat

iostat (input/output statistics) is a computer operating system monitoring tool used to collect and show storage input and output statistics.

It is often used to identify performance issues with local disks or networked file systems such as NFS.

The iostat tool is available on most UNIX and Unix-like operating systems, such as Linux or Solaris. The syntax and output of iostat often differs slightly between different operating systems.
