Established in 1992 as Airline Network, the company is one of the UK's leading internet based travel companies which is currently owned by the Thomas Cook Group.

It was originally formed as part of the Gold Medal Group which was established in 1970. The company was privately owned until December 2008 when it was taken over by the Thomas Cook Group in deal worth £84m. NetFlights has become one of the best known internet travel companies in the UK. Its main rivals currently are Expedia and Ebookers.

Airline Network offers a travel affiliate programme, and trades under a number of brand names including Pure Luxury and Get-Packing - a web based travel portal featuring a comprehensive travel guide. It is the UK's leading operator into Dubai.

The firm employs more than 600 people from its base in Preston.

The company currently sponsors Leeds United Football Club.
