Matt Johnson (TV presenter)

Matt Johnson is a Welsh TV presenter/host and personality best known for his role as interactive Hub presenter for ITV1's Award winning This Morning and former co-host of Channel 5's OK! TV. He was born in Caerphilly, and lives in London.[1]

Early Life

Matt Johnson was born on 18th November 1983 in Caerphilly, Wales.

Broadcasting career

Johnson appeared in Series 1 Episode 6 of Gavin and Stacey in 2007 playing 'Jose' the boyfriend of Stacey's brother Jason.

Johnson joined the ITV Wales News team as a reporter in January 2009

Johnson presented ITV Wales' The Wales Show until December 2010.

In September 2010, he joined the interactive Hub team on ITV1's This Morning programme.[2] From 14 February to 16 August 2011 he was co-presenter of Channel 5's OK! TV.[3]

Johnson was main host alongside TV Presenter Kate Walsh for Channel 5's Celebrity news programme OK!TV from February 2011 to August 2011

Johnson is also one of eight celebrities who was chosen to participate in an intense week learning Welsh in an eco-friendly chic campsite in Pembrokeshire in the series cariad@iaith:love4language shown on S4C in July 2011.

2011 to present

On 3 June and 28 October 2011 he guest co-presented This Morning on ITV1.

Matt Johnson presented This Morning: Friday alongside Kate Thornton during half term. 2 shoes X-Factor Finalist took the reigns of This Morning Hub whilst Matt presented the main show.

Awards

In 2010, Johnson was voted Wales' Sexiest Man in a poll conducted by the Trinity Mirror Group.[4]

Personal life

Matthew has two siblings, his younger sister is called Emily and his older brother is called Adam. His parents are named Pamala and Gary Johnson, though his mother's maiden name was Undery. He is also an uncle to his nephew Luke (Adam's son).

He dated The One Show host Alex Jones for six years before they broke up in 2009.[5]
