The Click & Grow system
Click & Grow is an automatic plant growing system developed by the Estonian company Click & Grow LLC.
The aim of the company is to produce an self-acting alternative to the common houseplant. The company states that plants grown in Click & Grow pot do not need watering or fertilization and any plant or even mushrooms can be grown using their technology. The whole process of plant growth is taken care of by sensors, processor and special software in the pot.[1][2]
The company released the first systems in July 2011 and started mass-production in August 2011[3]
Technology
The Click and Grow system consists of 2 parts - the pot (including pumps, processor, main circuit, alert lights, environment sensors and water tank) and the plant cartridge (including seeds, fertilizer, growing medium and a growth program circuit). The pot may be reused. The cartridge can be used only once and is specially designed to grow a specific plant.
The growing media used by Click and Grow is a hygienic mixture of stabilized coco coir and peat.
The system relies solely on natural lighting
