History

So he took the coach of Santos FC in 1978, Francisco Ferreira de Aguiar, Chico Formiga (photo), did not think it would usher in an era that would be recognized to this day as a symbol of success working in the categories of base

Without a strong squad and money to invest in hiring weight, Chico Formiga surprised then-President Ovalle Rubens Thursday: "If we do not have money, send the kids up," he said. Was born there the Meninos da Vila

Deep knowledge of football, Ant knew the players who were in the basic categories and only promoted to the squad because he knew the talent of the boys. The confirmation of the "Father of the Children's Village" I knew came with the title that year in São Paulo. Juary, Pita (photo), Nilton Batata and company broke the fast of six years of the State Fish untitled

Twenty four years later, the situation was to repeat itself. With true superstars û despite their age - emerging in the youth, coach Emerson Leão bet on the young. A team whose player was the oldest left-back Leo, 27 years old.

So this generation has been appointed as the new Children's Village. With a lively soccer, infectious and offensive, Diego, Robinho, Elano (pictured), Alex and company won Brazil. Both on the field, with the Brazilian title of 2002 (ending the fast of bonds of 18 years), and off the pitch, with the charisma of the whiz kids.

Long before Chico Ant "create" the first of Boys Town, Santos Football Club has worked hard in the lower division § es. Pele, Pepe (pictured) and Coutinho, exponents of the three best team of all time were created in Belmiro

Now, with the creation of the Boys Training Centre of the village and the whole structure that has, Santos FC follows shows that valuing and investing in young talent emerging in the path of Alvinegro Praiano.

Facilities

The space has two official camps, occupying part of an area totaling 25,500 meters square. In addition to the fields, the project includes facilities for changing rooms and administrative sectors, which will be built in a second step. Located at Avenida Martins Fontes, 1277, in the district of Savoy, the new CT honors the "Boys Town" (a term used to identify teams of Santos FC were formed primarily by athletes revealed the club), especially for the generations 1978 (§ s champion Sao Paulo) and 2002 (Brazilian champion § s)

For this reason, the two fields of the new CT will take the names of two boys of the village that best symbolized a · last generation camps, the camp will receive the name of a playmaker Robinho (now at Real Madrid - Spain) and Field 2 will honor the idol Diego (who now defends Werder Bremen - Germany). For professional reasons, both are not present at the inauguration
