Eight Beat Measure (8Beat) is the first all-male a cappella group based at the Rochester Institute of Technology. In April 2009, they will be celebrating their fifteenth anniversary.

History

Now in their 14th year of existence, 8 Beat Measure is RIT's oldest A Cappella group. Originally formed as an extension to the RIT Singers, 8 Beat Measure eventually expanded their horizons, while still maintaining a strong affiliation to the RIT Singers. 8 Beat Measure is known for their 'Funky Fresh' Style, and smooth harmonies. The guys of 8 Beat enjoy many different types of music, and perform from a wide repertoire of A Cappella music both arranged by our members and pre-arranged.

hows

In 2007, Eight Beat Measure began the tradition of presenting a fall concert on Halloween, aptly named "Acappellaween", and a spring concert called "Chill Beats", named after Rochester's chilly weather and Eight Beat's chill grooves. In the 2008 year, Eight Beat Measure will be having a 15 year anniversary concert in place of Chill Beats.
