Gargoyle is a Japanese thrash metal band, formed in 1987 in Osaka. They merge thrash metal with some elements of Japanese folk music and (debatably) Avant-Garde. They have been (and arguably still are due to Kiba's live outfits) part of the Visual Kei movement, with their live appearance usually incorporating elaborate costumes. Since their formation, Gargoyle have released one live album, two singles, four EPs, and twelve studio albums, starting in 1989 with the debut Misogi.
