Lu Qin

Lu Qin (Chinese: 吕钦) is currently considered to be one of the world's best players in Xiangqi, or Chinese Chess.Lu was born in Huiyang, Guangdong Province, China in 1962. [http://www.stqiyuan.com/m_player_view.asp?id=0002] He is one of a handful of grandmasters from Guangdong Province, China, which is notable for being the home of many famed grandmasters of Xiangqi, including Yang Guanli, Cai Furu and Xu Yinchuan. Lu's major achievement in Xiangqi includes but is not limited to the following:champion in Chinese National Xiangqi Individual Championship in 1986, 1988, 1999, 2003 and 2004;, starter of the champion team of Guangdong in Chinese National Xiangqi League in 1989, 1993, 1999, 2000, 2001, 2002, 2004 and 2006; champion of Asian Xiangqi Individual Championship in 1985; starter of the champion team of China of world Xiangqi Championship in 1990, 1995, 1997, 2001 and 2005; champion in the World Xiangqi Individual Championship in 1990, 1995, 1997, 2001 and 2005.
