"Katha" Literary Folio

The "Katha" is the official literary folio of the DWCC Gazette. It is a literary magazine that publishes short stories, poetry, essays and other creative contributions from the students of Divine Word College of Calapan. The word "katha" is an old Tagalog word for creation. In literature, it means 'created by the mind' and may directly refer to poetry and literature created by the mind or a work of fiction. "Katha" is published once a year and released from November to February. "Katha" literary magazine is famous for its quality and creative poems and unique literary styles in short stories.

Comics

Gazette is widely known for its center-fold comics which reflects semestral activities inside Divine Word College of Calapan. It is often criticized for being so transparent regarding campus issues. The "comics" is a black and white sketch of the whole university including the two large buildings that comprise the college, the Main Building and the Academic (ACD) Building. Students and characters are often portrayed in funny cartoon or caricature style drawings characterized by big faces and small bodies made alive by dialogues and conversations which are taken from current schooll events, usually the College Days in February each year or the College Instramurals in July.
