Ida Alexa Ross Wylie, also Ida Alena Ross Wylie [http://andrejkoymasky.com/liv/fam/biow3/wyli1.html Matt & Andrej Koymasky - Famous GLTB - Ida Alexa Ross Wylie ] ] , born March 16, 1885 in Melbourne, died November 4, 1959 in Princeton, New Jersey, usually known by her pen name I. A. R. Wylie, was an Australian novelist and poet who flourished during the 1910s as a romance writer, and later became known for her nonfiction work.

In 1888 she was moved to London with her parents, where her mother died shortly thereafter. She was homeschooled by her father, Alexander Coghill Wylie, until her teenage years, at which time she was sent to finishing school in Belgium. In 1917 She moved to America where she lived out the rest of her days. She is said to have been "One of the most respected authors of her generation" and in 1946, she was acknowledged for her achievements by the Women's National Press Club.
