DriversHQ

DriversHQ

DriversHQ is the publisher of the driver sniffer software Driver Detective. DriversHQ.com was one of the first companies to offer a free scan of a user's computer accompanied by suggestions of device drivers that need to be updated. The service was initially offered free of charge [Faster For Free http://pcworld.about.com/magazine/2101p123id106700.htm] and included links to the recommended driver files. The company currently charges $29.95 for a license for up to ten computers.

Driver Detective stores some driver files on its servers, but for most of its files it links to external sites (usually the hardware vendor site) for the files. However, Driver Detective is distinguished from Version Tracker in that it suggests and links to device driver updates, while Version Tracker suggests and links primarily to software updates.

Driver Detective competes against similar products such as those from PC Pitstop, RadarSync, DriverAgent, and others.
