The National Security Intelligence, commonly known as the NSI is the leading civilian intelligence agency of Bangladesh, directly responsible to the office of the Prime Minister of Bangladesh. The agency has 64 branch offices across the 64 districts in Bangladesh. Although a civilian body responsible for foreign intelligence as opposed to the military's Directorate General of Forces Intelligence, it is nevertheless headed by a senior military officer.Organization
- The Directorate General of National Security Intelligence is headed by a Director General with the rank of Major General.
- The intelligence agency maintains presence in all parts of Bangladesh particularly the major cities.
- The force is mostly staffed by civilian personnel.
Duties
The main objectives of the NSI are to collect and analyze domestic intelligence information to advice the government of Bangladesh.
Training
NSI personnel undergo extensive intelligence training within country and abroad. the h/q of NSI is situated in the capital city of the state.
