From there he moved to Oshawa where he graduated from Durham College [ [http://www.durhamcollege.com Durham College ] ] with a Diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

Career

It was in college where O'Brien first performed at Yuk Yuk's Toronto in the summer of 2006 as a Comedian.

He can be seen at clubs across Ontario and was recently a juror on Muchmusics "Barely Legal" episode of Video on Trial [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Video_on_Trial_episodes] , a semi-finalist in Q107's funniest person with a day job 2007, a contestant in the Yuk Yuk's Great Canadian Laugh Off in 2008, and performed on MTV Canada on The Hills Aftershow and MTV LIVE.

Along with comedy he is an award winning sports writer for The Chronicle newspaper [ [http://dca.durhamc.on.ca/chronicle/ [Chronicle ] , and also a videographer and anchor for DC News in Oshawa where he interviewed artists like ill scarlett, Randy and Mr.Lahey from the Trailer Park Boys, Wu Tang Clan, and Hollywood stunt woman Alex Madison [ [http://youtube.com/watch?v=zyA6bK55n5o YouTube - Matt O'Brien DC NEWS- Alex Madison Hollywood Stunt Woman ] ] .

O'Brien has also been a regular concert MC around the Durham Region, and was the host of Bandwarz 2008 [ [http://youtube.com/watch?v=Azi1TnOsj2E YouTube - Bandwarz March 29th 2008 Winners SPIES ] ] on Rogers Television Durham.

Currently he is living in Toronto, Ontario.
