- Avenir Ivanovitch Sumin
Avenir Ivanovitch Sumin was a competitor of the
Fabergé 's art inSt. Petersburg at the end of the XIX. century and beginning of the XX. century. We don't know many of his life, but his first class works got his name to the jewellery's world. Sumin produced mostly clocks, cigarette cases and frames which can be found occasionally in cardoard boys, marked with his initial and full name in Cyrillic characters. Sumin used the same colour-scheme asBritzin , with a predilection for whiteenamel and the occasional unexpected turquise. Many objects, including whiteenamel cigarette cases and miniatureEaster egg s in pale pink, yellow, mauve and blue are stamped A.A., presumably standing forAstreyden , who seems to have had a working relationship with Sumin. Sumin also sold many objects made byFabergé workmaster s.
