Heidi Stelling

Heidi Anne Stelling was the first test tube child created and born in Australia.Fact|date=May 2008 She was born on May 24 1987. [Sydney Morning Herald, 1987, p2] Prior to birth the experitment was known as "Project HAS". [Ibid]

The project was conducted by the CSIRO and is widely held to be a success. [Ibid]

Heidi Anne Stelling has still not displayed any major birth defects. She is currently studying psychiatry and runs a Canberra based test tube babies support group. She was nominated for young Australian of the year in 2006. [A Current Affair, Channel 9, aired March 4, 2006]
