Saudi support for Iraq during the Iran–Iraq War was comprised of $20 billion of funding between September 1980 and May 1982."Treacherous Alliance: The secret dealings of Israel, Iran and the United States", by Trita Parsi, Yale University Press, 2007]

Trita Parsi writes that

Since then, Saudi Arabia and regional countries have pulled back from support to Iraq, but are currently reassessing their position in light of the increasing influence of Iran in the region.
