Elizabeth Gunn is an American
author of mystery novels.Gunn lives in
Tucson, Arizona with her husband. Her careful research into police techniques results in "precision-tooled procedurals" according to Marilyn Stasio of "The New York Times " ["Crime", New York Times, Books, July 22, 2001] . One series is set the fictional city of Rutherford,Minnesota . A second is set in Tucson, where she moved in 1999. Her publishers include Walker, Dell, Harlequin, Forge, and Severn House.Gunn is a former Innkeeper who began her writing career doing freelance travel articles. She grew up in the Southeast Minnesota of her Jake Hines novels.

The series takes place in and near a fictionalized version of
