Nepal Student Union is one of the main student union in Nepal. Nepal student union is a student wing of Nepali Congress, second largest political party of Nepal. During the autocratic King's rule (Panchayati Byawastha), this union has played a major role in unifying students to overthrow King's direct rule and establish democracy in the country.

History

The organization was formed during autocratic Panchayat era. It was formed in march 1970 in Kathmandu by a group or dedicated students.

The first major student movement was held in 1979 for the sake of free student union and for the restoration of democracy in Nepal. Nepal Student Union exercises the principle of Nationality, Democracy, Socialism, and Student Unity uniting the student in the umbrella of Nepali Congress ideals.

The first president of Nepal student union was Bipin Koirala in 1970. In the year 1971, Sher Bahadur Deuba became the second president of the Nepal student union.
