Angono is a 1st class urban municipality in the province of Rizal, Philippines and Angono, Rizal is Known as "The Art Capital of the Philippines". It is located 30km East of Manila. According to the 2007 census, it has a population of 97,209 inhabitants ("74,668 people in 18,062 households in cenus 2000").

First created as a pueblo in 1766, Angono became a municipality in 1935.

Built up area

With the continuous expansion of Metro Manila, the city is now included in Manila built up area which reaches Cardona in its Westernmost part.

Culture

It is the hometown of two national artists, Lucio San Pedro for music and Carlos "Botong" Francisco for arts. One of the Public School in Brgy. Mahabang Parang Named Carlos "Botong" V. Francisco National High School. It is where the Angono Petroglyphs got its name.Fact|date=May 2008

Every 23rd of November, Angono celebrates the "Higantes Festival", coinciding with the Feast of Saint Clement, the Patron Saint of Angono.
