Hamza Riazuddin

Hamza Riazuddin (born December 19, 1989) is an English cricketer. He is a right-handed batsman and a right-arm medium-fast bowler who currently plays for Hampshire. He is a British Asian. He was born in Hendon but currently lives in Reading, Berkshire with his family.

Throughout his childhood, he played for Hurst Cricket Club and he also captained several age-group Berkshire cricket teams.

He goes to Bradfield College in Reading and is a member of the Hampshire cricket academy.

Having played his first game for the Hampshire Second XI against a Victoria team at the age of 15, he played semi-regularly in the 2006 and 2007 Second XI Championship, and in the ECB Under-17 Regional Festival. He has played three games for the England U-19 side

Having made a single Second XI appearance in 2008, Riazuddin's first-class debut came in May, in a match against Somerset. He took one wicket (Ian Blackwell) with the ball in the first innings, and was the most economical bowler in a second innings in which Somerset amassed a large score. His only contribution with the bat was four runs in the first innings, however, he did well to hang around and support Lumb.

His one-day debut came in the Friends Provident Trophy in a victory against Glamorgan about two weeks later. He achieved average bowling figures of 10-0-42-0. He did not bat.

His second one-day game was against Worcestershire. He bowled tightly and returned very respectable figures of 6-0-15-1. He was not required to bat.

Riazuddin is a tailender for the Hampshire team.
