Franck Cammas (born the

He has lived in Brittany since his victory in the Challenge Espoir Crédit Agricole in1994 . After completing a two year maths course for the ‘Grandes écoles’, as well as a piano academy, Franck Cammas finally opted for a career in sailing. In1997 , at the age of 24, he won theSolitaire du Figaro and a year later helmed his firsttrimaran by the name ofGroupama . Despite his late entry into competition, he is one of the most talented and respected sailors in the ORMA world.The sea isn't his only passion. Indeed, he also practices skiing and several board sports. He is also a father to two little girls.
Currently
skipper of the Groupama II and III trimarans, he was ORMA champion 2007. The Groupama II Trimaran is used in competitions within the ORMA championship. Groupama III is designed for a record programme.Franck took victory in the
Transat Jacques Vabre 2007 aboard Groupama II, in a time of 10 days, 38 minutes and 43 seconds.Race wins
