Richard Kurin

Dr. Richard Kurin is an American folklorist and author. He is the director of the Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage at the Smithsonian Institution, and Acting Under Secretary for History, Art and Culture. Kurin, a doctor in cultural anthropology, was also a Fulbright fellow, and was a keynote speaker at the International Council of Museums in 2004 and at Harvard's Peabody Museum in 2008.
