Aventura is a Bachata music group based in The Bronx, New York of Dominican origin.

History

The group was formed in 1994 by cousins Anthony (Romeo) and Henry Santos and brothers Max and Lenny Santos. They originally went by the name Los Ts (The Teenagers). They later decided to change their name to Aventura.

In 2004 Anthony married a Dominican girl named Aries. They are still together and are living happy together in New York. They also have twin boys.

In 1999, Aventura signed with BMG. Three years later they gained recognition with the album "We Broke the Rules" and the smash hit "Obsesión", now a staple at Latin dance venues around the world. In 2005, Frankie J did an English cover of the song and saw success with it and the remixes that followed. The cousins Anthony and Henry Santos do not share a relation to the brothers Max and Lenny Santos.

Musical Style

Aventura created their own unique style of bachata by infusing the sounds of Hip-Hop, R&B and Reggaeton. [http://www.aventuraworldwide.com/bio.htm] They also use both English and Spanish in their lyrics.they are also behind on their new album that was suppose to come out on sep.27.08 but was not able cause they did not finish the song and video to the song .when the time is right it will be announced that the cd will come out.
