1987 VFL Grand Final

1987 VFL Grand Final

The 1987 VFL Grand Final took place on September 26, 1987 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground between VFL clubs Carlton and Hawthorn.

It was Hawthorn's fifth successive Grand Final and they had beaten Carlton in the previous season's decider. This time Carlton finished on the winning side, with a 33 point victory to give them their 15th premiership and first since 1982. Hawthorn were without Jason Dunstall who had kicked 94 goals for the year so they played Paul Dear at full-forward
