Nov 1985 as Marxel Antonio Lavallier Lopez, 1985) is an American musician , multi-media artist and performer of mixed mexican, spanish basque and french decent.Marxel was born to
5th generation hispanic parents is one of 3 children Angelica Lucina Lopez and Isela Lorena Lopez who both suffer from severe Autism in Los Angeles county,California . The actor, singer and artist known as Marxel is the nephew of Diplomat and civil rights activist Julian Nava, brother of his grandmother Lucille Nava Hernandez. He grew up inWhittier a suburb of southern Los Angeles. The sever disabilities of his sisters would prove traumatic in the artists childhood, in which he discusses as " The dark times," characteristic of neglect. In 1993 as a young child Marxel turned to performance and landed his first audition with Aaron Spelling whome he met through a Nava family function at the Centro De Nino's Christmas Gala 1993. Marxel would not get immediate attention however until later in life through music rather then film en devours. Marxel studied Fine Arts Film and Photography atCornell University before taking a year leave for Hollywood after booking a role in the indie Film " As Deep", which little is known about and is thought to be either lost or destroyed since production did not complete due to lack of funds and arrests made on set for indecent exposure and drug use. It is not known if Marxel was involved in these incidents. In 2006 Marxel would enter the party scene of Hollywood, networking for management and film roles. Marxel would turn to music eventually landing a record deal with KRAM Records beginning his first album, well received in the underground LA club scene. His performances have been described as highly sexual reflecting an androgynous tone of sexual invitation. The artist would promote for 1 more year until returning to NY and earning his undergraduate degree.In Feb 2008, he received critical acclaim for his art opening at
Cornell University by the local newspaper "The Cornell Daily Sun " and community, with his Van Dyke photo processes work on animal skins in addition to photographic works on gender in pop culture.In the 2006 HBO film "Walkout", the role of Dr. Julian Nava was played by actor
Edward James Olmos . Marxel also participated in the historic film as one of the school children.Bibliography
