Lesley Miller

American girl singer born in 1943 in Baltimore and who would eventually relocate to Mamaroneck, New York.

She began in 1963 by cutting demos which were sent to Peggy March, Andrea Carroll and Reparata & the Delrons who recorded Leslie's demo of the Chip Taylor & Ted Daryll song, "Tommy" as their follow up to "Whenever A Teenager Cries."She was signed by RCA and then to MGM where a total of 8 singles were released to the end of the 60s.One of her RCA singles was an answer version to Staff Sgt.Barry Sadler's Ballad of the Green BeretsIn addition to a singing career which saw nothing close to a hit she was a backup singer on singles by Peggy March, Petula Clark, Bobby Hebb, Connie Francis, Steely Dan, etc. and a maker of TV commercials including Eastern Airlines and State Farm Insurance.

Lesley was married to Alan Lorber who became a cult name in lounge music though Lesley's music was pure high school pop where she was mainly an early singer songwriter.Her 1968 single of Teach me to love you is the only one issued in the UK and was her final single

In 2007 a 29 track CD was issued on the Cat King Cole label of her complete output including all her unreleased demos
