George Exoo is a
Unitarian Universalist minister andassisted suicide activist. He was originally a Methodist and has a doctorate in music history fromUniversity of California, Berkeley . He became a Unitarian Universalist minister in 1973. The first suicide he assisted occurred inPittsburgh, Pennsylvania in 1995. In January, 2002 the Irish authorities wanted him for assisting the suicide of Rosemary Toole. The American Authorities arrested him, but ultimately refused extradition. Although he has supporters there has also been concern within the right-to-die community that he has assisted suicides of individuals who do not have a terminal or debilitating illness.
