Guayaquil . It occupies the northern half of the city. As of the2001 census , the parish had a population of 835,486 inhabitants, 42.9% of the population in the city. Its southeastern portion belongs to thedowntown .Adjacent parishes
It is a parish of the city of Cuenca, located 300 miles south from Quito. Quito is the Capital of the Republic of Ecuador in south America .
