San Manuel is a 4th class municipality in the province of Isabela, Philippines. According to the 2000 census, it has a population of 27,059 people in 5,570 households.

The People

The people of San Manuel, mostly, are farmers. 99% are Christians and just 1% of the population is not. They are friendly and corteous. They are very warmth to visitors.

Culture

San Manuel is a Christian town. Traditions and customs are mostly related to Christian beliefs. Even its "Harvest Festival" held during the months of April and May is in commemoration of a patron saint believed to be helping out the local farmers for a bountiful year. The Catholic Church is the most influential religious group in the town. The people of the town remains simple. They are reserved and still remain conservative. However, with the advancement of technology and with the fast changing world, the town people still manage to cope up.

Communication and Transportation

Landline is available in the town proper and is yet to be available in baranggays outsied it. However, celphone use is widely famous. Text messaging has flourished as the most readily available and most used communication service in the town. Snail mail is still existing as well as telegram. San Manuel is linked to a national road leading to the northern part of the Philippines.Internet connection (broadband) is available in the town. The major/national roads are cemented, though not all the roads are cemented, most of the town's road are accessible to cars, buses and trucks. Tricycles in the town and neighboring baranggays are available for use.
