The Playing Favorites is a side project alternative pop punk rock band which is led by Joey Cape (Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Lagwagon, Bad Astronaut), Luke Tierney (The Penfifteen Club, Silver Jet). The other members are Tim Cullen (Summercamp) and Marko DeSantis (Sugarcult, Bad Astronaut, The Lapdancers), and Mick Flowers (Popsicko, The Rentals, The Lapdancers). The band originate from Santa Barbara, CA.

They have recently released a debut Album called I Remember When I Was Pretty. The songs were written in a period of 5 days.
