Wally Roettger

Wally Roettger

Walter Henry Roettger (August 28, 1902 in St. Louis, Missouri - September 14, 1951 in Champaign, Illinois), was a professional baseball player who played outfielder in the Major Leagues from by|1927-by|1935. He would play for the St. Louis Cardinals, Cincinnati Reds, New York Giants, and Pittsburgh Pirates.

He would later coach baseball at the University of Illinois from 1935 to 1951.

Roettger committed suicide in Champaign, Illinois.
