Episode 5 of the fantasy action series "Silverwing was broadcast sometime in 2003.

Synopsis

Shade and Marina meet Goth and Throbb, two cannibal bats from the jungle.

Plot

It is the fifth episode in the series and the first appearance of Goth and Throbb. Shade and Marina are flying by, suddenly an owl spots Shade. The owl goes after Shade and Marina yells for Shade. Shade looks back, only to say Zephyr just trying to scare them again. The owl attacks Shade, and grabs him. Marina yells again as the owl starts to carry Shade off. Goth then flies over Marina and she says it can't be. Goth flies over to the owl's side, turns his head, and says hola. Shade gasps as Goth flies ahead of the owl. The owl tries to attack Goth, but he dodges. The owl flies away, with Goth following. The owl turns and the two clash, Goth holds the owl above his head and throws it away. As the owl falls it releases Shade. He looks around then flies to the flat roof of a building. Marina flies next to him, the owl notices them and once again attacks them. Goth attacks the owl, the owl flies with Goth on his back and breaks lightbulbs on a building. Goth laughs as the owl flies away from the bulbs. Goth fight the owl and they fall on the building were Shade and Marina are. The owl tries to step on Goth, but he dodges. Goth wounds the owl with his claw, and the owl attacks him. Goth flies up to a wall and looks down at the owl. Goth attacks the owl, and kills it. Goth and Throbb then introduce themselves and then Shade and Marina introduce themselves. Chinook gives the news about that the owls are there. Goth and Throbb then talk about themselves in the jungle, a little while the red bird and the four owls chase after Frieda and the Silverwings but they fail after the Silverwings escape by dodging through three saws. One owl blames the red owl and then the other owls leave. Chinook has told the Silverwings that the squirrels told him that they were on a killing spree and Frieda explains about the Towers of Fire and they must get there. Shade uses his soundmap to see through his colony and Marina blames him for it and they both rush angrily. Brutus, The Supreme Commander of the Owls, delivers a speech to the beasts about the Silverwings explaining the death of the owl killed by Goth in the Cathredral. Remus and Romulus calls Brutus and the other owls self-servant while Ursa was not involved in this situation. The wolves then interfere and then they were cheered by the beasts then they were ordered to be quiet by Brutus and he asks them "Either you're with us or you're with the bats?!" and he wants to know. Throbb cleans Goth's band and after Shade tells the story of the Battle between the Birds and the Beasts and he braking the law, Marina walks out on him. And he follows her to know what is her problem and then Marina hurts Shade's feelings by saying that she had wished she had never met him and Shade calls her negative for it and the two separate angrily and then Shade tells Goth and Throbb her decision of going back to her island and Shade is sad about it and then he finds a killed bat eaten by Goth and then he tells Throbb to find Marina and return her as a favor while he tells Shade to call his soundmap again but he is pale and exhausted so finds Throbb and Marina and Shade tells them that the Silverwings are here in the area and then he thought that Marina was heading back to the island and tells her she should get going and then Marina was happier when she was by herself anyway and Shade tricks Throbb that Goth has told them that a feast was going to happen allowing he and Marina to flee. Meanwhile, Throbb finds out that he was tricked by Shade after Goth tells him that Shade gave him the directions to the Towers of Fire. Shade tells Marina that she was right, the two cannibal bats don't just eat owls, they eat bats and Marina is shocked by this and then they go to look for Shade's colony and he is shocked by this situation.
