Woodinville High School is a public secondary school located in city|Woodinville|Washington and is part of the Northshore School District.

Basic Information

Woodinville High School was built in 1983 on a 40 acre site. A special education and administration addition in 1990 expanded the facility. The athletics fields recently underwent a full modernization with new lighted baseball and softball fields. During the summer of 1997 the chemistry and physics labs were remodeled. Recently the soccer field and track field events area was renovated. The 60 classrooms are in use daily for students. In addition, the school theater, gym and fields are used in the evenings and on the weekends for special events by the community. Woodinville High School's student body is contributed to by such schools as Leota Junior High, Canyon Park, Northshore, Skyview, and Timbercrest, as well as other outside schools. It is a part of the Kingco 4A athletic conference.

WHS (as the school is known by its students and staff) is one of three major high schools in Northshore School District. For the year 2006-2007, the school has offered many in-school activities that include sports such as football, basketball (men's/women's), soccer (men's/women's), track and field, cross country, and many others including an excellent women's Gymnastics team that recently won a state title.

Drama Program

From the school's opening in 1983 to 2006, the Drama Department was headed by Director Hjalmer Anderson. During his tenure at WHS, the acclaimed director built the program to be one of the top drama programs in the United States, and they were invited twice to perform at the Edinburgh Fringe as part of the American High School Theatre Festival. Academics

The current Principal is Vicki Puckett. Woodinville High School has a wide range of educational opportunities, including AP Classes, NEVAC classes, and school newspaper (Quill) and broadcasting (FNN) classes. Many art classes are offered, such as jewelry and ceramics, as well as computer classes, such as CAD and computer animation. The school recently obtained a perfect 10 GreatSchools rating.
