Jesús Escobar, Ph.D., is an associate professor of
Art History and chair of the Department of Visual andPerforming Arts atFairfield University located inFairfield, Connecticut . Professor Escobar is a specialist in the architecture and urbanism of early modern Spain and Italy and has published articles and reviews in leading journals of art history and early modern studies. Dr. Escobar won a Fulbright Senior Scholar Award to Spain where he researched his new book tentatively titled "Architecture and Politics in the Madrid of Philip IV." And he has been a fellow of the Center for Advanced Study in the Visual Arts at the
