William Joseph Duplissea (born
September 27 ,1977 inSan Carlos, California ) is a former minor league baseball player who currently serves as the bullpen catcher for theKansas City Royals ofMajor League Baseball .He was originally drafted by the
Baltimore Orioles in the 39th round of the 1997MLB Draft out of theUniversity of California-Santa Barbara . He did not sign with the Orioles and was later signed by theLos Angeles Dodgers as a free agent in 1999.Duplissea played
catcher in the Dodgers organization from 1999-2003 with theYakima Bears (1999),Great Falls Dodgers (2000),San Bernardino Stampede (2000),Vero Beach Dodgers (2000-2002),Albuquerque Dukes (2000) andJacksonville Suns (2002-2003).After his playing career ended he was an assistant coach for the
College of San Mateo before joining the Royals staff as the bullpen catcher in 2006.References
