The 2008 Fort Railway Station Bombing was a suicide bombing of a commuter train while it was stopped at the Fort Railway Station, Colombo, Sri Lanka on February 3 2008. Killed in the attack were eight school children of D. S. Senanayake College's baseball team and their coach/teacher-in-charge.

The Sri Lankan Government immediately alleged that the attack was carried out by a female suicide bomber [ [http://www.tribuneindia.com/2008/20080204/world.htm#12 Colombo suicide blast kills 12 civilians] ] , belonging to LTTE, who got down from a train and exploded amids rush hour on Platform 3, but provided no evidence. WSWS claims that attack could have been carried out by either the LTTE or Sri Lankan Military or military associated paramilitary cannot be ruled out as a possible perpetrator.
