The Belltower

The Belltower

The Belltower was an American shoegazing band from the early 1990s. The band was fronted by Jody Porter on vocals and guitar and Britta Phillips, also on vocals and guitar. The Belltower mostly recorded with Ultimate Records although their album was released in America on EastWest Records. Their debut album Popdropper was well-received and it was stated that "yes, it's possible, and the Belltower were the best example that Americans could do it just as good as the English" [ [http://www.bandplanet.co.uk/forgottenbandplanet/thebelltower/index.html The Belltower (US Band) At The Forgotten Band Planet ] ] . The band eventually broke up, with only one album under their belt, and members of the band would later go on to be in Fountains Of Wayne, Ivy and Astrojet.
