May 20 1954 ) is a Dutch artist,sculptor ,graphic designer , andillustrator . He was born in Aalst but has lived and worked inCuraçao ,Netherlands Antilles since 1982. Since 1984, Baselmans has designedpostal stamp s for the post office of the Netherlands Antilles and has worked as anillustrator for different schoolbooks. Hispen drawing s are made in a combination ofpen and ink ,color pencils , and soft pastelchalk .Baselmans started to draw at the age of three. His father taught him
woodcarving , working withclay ,painting , and other techniques which he still uses. He attended the Graphic School (University) and The Free Academy inEindhoven in theNetherlands . Afterwards, he attended several drawing courses such asairbrush andarchitectural rendering in theUnited States . More recently, he has organized exhibitions in several countries, and has written severale-book s.Exhibitions
