Stanley Foundation

The Stanley Foundation is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, private operating foundation started in 1956 by engineer and entrepreneur, C. Maxwell Stanley, with headquarters in Muscatine, Iowa in the United States.

The foundation is a policy institute (think tank) that researches and analyzes international relations. The foundation's mission is to "promote public understanding, constructive dialogue, and cooperative action on critical international issues. Our work recognizes the essential roles of both the policy community and the broader public in building sustainable peace."cite web|url=http://www.stanleyfoundation.org/about.cfm|title=Mission|publisher=The Stanley Foundation|date=2008-05-09|accessdate=2008-05-09] From 1974 to 2004, the foundation published the international news magazine "World Press Review".
