architect , Genese is responsible for the long term development and stewardship of the Garden's physical structures, including buildings,gardens andinfrastructure .Prior to joining the Garden, Genese has had a successful 20+ year career in the
New York design and construction industry, focusing mainly on public and educational institutions. He has served as head of facilities and operations at theNew York Institute of Technology (NYIT) , theCity University of New York , and has held various positions with thegovernment ofNew York City , including the Office of the Mayor, Department of Design and Construction and the Department of General Services.Genese has served for 20 years on various boards of disabled organizations, including the Eastern Paralyzed Veterans Association/United Spinal Association and the North American Wheelchair Athletic Association.
