Indian Army Armoured Corps
- Indian Army Armoured Corps
The Indian Army Armoured Corps is one of the 8 Combat and Support Arms of the Indian Army. It currently consists of 63 Armoured Regiments, including the President's Bodyguards. The naming of the regiments varies. From the 65th Armoured Regiment onwards, the term 'Cavalry' and 'Lancer' have been dispensed with. All of the subsequent regiments are designated simply as Armoured Regiment (AR). The terms Cavalry and Lancer are remnants of the formation of the British Indian Army. The Armoured Corps School and Centre is at Ahmednagar.
