Katovice (Strakonice District)

Katovice is a municipality in the Strakonice District in the South Bohemian Region of the Czech Republic, also known as Kātouce. The village is 5 kilometers west of Strakonice, and is 412 meters above sea level. It is in the center of the former Prachens region. "Katovicka Hora", an ancient castle, is two kilometers away. The first known reference to Katovice is in a historical document dating from 1318. The municipality has 1,279 inhabitants.
