Thumpoly is coastal town in the Alappuzha District of
Kerala . It is situated on the north west of the district. The national High way 47 cuts through the middle of this town. Thumpoly is famous for its canals and river lets which end their course in the Persian Gulf. There is canal called thumpoly Pozhi, from which the name thumpoly came in.The land Mark of the Place is it 500 Year old Church. St. Thomas Church Built by Portuguese. The Main celebration of the Place is the feast of Immaculate conception. which is celebrated on the 8th December every year the poor fisher men of the place put their entire trust in the Blessed Mother. Thirthassery temple is another important monument in the place. The typical Kerala architectural beauty can be seen this small temple.
