Ray Norton (born 1937) was an American sprinter. In college he ran for
San José State University . He later won two gold medals at the1959 Pan American Games . In that same year he tiedLeamon King 's record at the 100 meters at 10.1 seconds. 1960 Olympics , after seemingly winning the4 x 100 metres relay , his team was disqualified when he passed the baton outside the exchange zone. In addition, he was the favorite to win the 100/200 meter dash double, but finished last in both races.References
