Ilancueitl

Ilancuēitl was a female ruler of the early Aztec people from 1299 to 1347.

The period from 1299 to 1376 is full of holes and imprecise data, despite its importance in Mexico's history, as Mexico City is thought to have been founded during this period. Ilancueitl was the wife of Huēhueh Ācamāpīchtli (tlahtoāni of Cōlhuàcān) and daughter of Lord Ahcolmiztli of Coatl Ichan. Ilancuēitl in the Nahuatl language means "skirt of old woman" (ilam-ah, "old woman"; cuëitl "apron, skirt").
