Southern Football League 1903-04

The 1903-04 Southern Football League season was the 10th in the history of the Southern League, a football competition in England. The League was comprised of future Football League sides and non-league clubs. The teams in the League were divided into First and Second Divisions.

1 From this season on Millwall Athletic were known simply as Millwall.

1 In keeping with Millwall Athletic's name change the second team followed suit.

Division One final table

1 The system of using goal average to separate two teams tied on points was used up until the 1976-77 season.

2 The points system: 2 points for a win, 1 point for a draw and 0 points for losing.

1 The system of using goal average to separate two teams tied on points was used up until the 1976-77 season.

Promotion and relegation

This season saw no First Division teams apply for election to the Football League, with no relegation as Kettering left the League at the end of the season; they were replaced by Division Two champions Watford. In the Second Division Millwall II and Chesham Town left the League at the end of the season; they were replaced by newly-elected Clapton Orient and three new reserve teams; West Ham United II, Brighton & Hove Albion II and Watford II.
